April 4, 2005
Guest Speaker: Drummer Bill Schmidt
Guest Clinician: Romail Bhatti - Tabla
Young "Up & Comers": Genesis Maceda & Joseph Webb
Our 3rd Get-Together on Monday, April 4th was nothing short of fantastic!
We had fellowship with pizza, desserts & beverages.
Bill Schmidt gave a talk on a drummer's role in worship.
Our two
up & coming drummers were Genesis Maceda of Eternal Rock Church &
Joseph Webb of Brookfield Assembly of God. They did a great job!
Genesis was born in Peru, raised in Japan, and now, with her Pastor dad,
Edgardo Maceda, and family, they lead a Spanish-speaking church on
Milwaukee's south side - Eternal Rock Church.
Our featured clinician was Romail Bhatti from Pakistan who treated us to an incredible Tabla demonstration. He also gave us a powerful testimony about life as a Christian in a country with a 97% population of Muslims.
He was
accompanied on the drumset by Bill Schmidt, who helped Romail demonstrate how
the Tabla can be used in western - American music.
Bill Sargent gave the "Equipment Tip" for the night demonstrating the
"Roc-N-Soc" Motion Throne.
The evening closed with a jam session consisting of 9 drummers on separate drumsets & percussion set-ups. They really had a groove happening!
My sincere thanks to Cy White of PHOTO ACTION USA
for providing the wonderful pictures of our monthly Get-Together
for the Wisconsin Chapter of Drummers for Jesus.
