Our monthly Get-Together on May 2nd was nothing short of awesome! There was a major anointing on the whole gathering and the speakers.

Our special guest speaker was Pastor/Musician Jerome Spencer from New Beginnings Christian Church. He talked about all kinds of aspects of drumming from what he looks for in a drummer, a drummer as a team player, a drummers role within the band, and the spiritual role of a drummer.

We had a doorprize giveaway of 3 new Zildjian T-shirts.

Our Young "Up & Coming" drummers were 7 year old TJ McHatten and 11 year old Joshua McHatten. They demonstrated solid time, groove and a flash of chops.

The "Equipment Tip" for the month was Puresound Snares.

We were blessed to have Youth Pastor/Drummer Tim McHatten from Balm In Gilead Church of God In Christ as our clinician for the month. Tim presented all kinds of styles with an emphasis on gospel drumming. He brought his keyboardist, Percy Lobley, to aid in his demonstration of different kinds of grooves. Tim was insightful, informative, inspiring and entertaining. He was wonderful.

Our jam session that closed the evening consisted of 21 drummers . . . and oh yea, we even let JD Webb join in by laying down a groove on keyboard. We know it's hard just sitting by and watching this without wanting to play SOMETHING!
